I wish I had done this sooner, such a boon.

Use a programmable gaming mouse for editing. Mine has seven extra buttons.
With one button i zoom into or out of my timeline. One button to take the image full screen for viewing. Etc.

The convenience of doing 95% of my editing without needing to touch a keyboard allows me to recline more comfortably as well.

if you’re currently using a simple mouse and constantly pressing ctrl+combo keyboard shortcuts in your editor then a gaming mouse might be for you. Not gonna change your world but it’s a convenience you will appreciate

I haven't even evolved... I still use the icons on the editing workspace. Sometimes I will remember the buttons for CUT or MOVE, but that's it.

My mouse has seven buttons. I use exactly one of them. And I happen to be really good at editing.
I didn’t say the tip will make you any better.

I said it’ll be easier

Here’s an analogy ... if you weren’t using that mouse but instead a track pad it would slow you down. But your end result would be the same. And the process would be less enjoyable
