His album, "Bat out of Hell", was a bestseller and remains iconic in its medium, but he was also famous as a singer in the "Rocky Horror Picture Show". He led a good life.

Also a good actor. I remember a positive NYT review of a Meatloaf performance in some Shakespeare thing; in the park I think. He called him Mr. Loaf :).
