Matt Efsic

Hi There,

My name is Matt Efsic. I work at Brooks Institute (Ventura Film Campus). I am in charge of repairs (in house and outsource) of cameras, lights, audio, and grip equipment as well as being the head of equipment training for students. I also work as an independent DIT/Data Loader (Red, P2, Sony Express, Canon EOS, AVCHD), AC and Operator, and DP when I can get it. Most of what I've worked on are multi-camera shorts and music videos. I have worked on 1 (wish I was on more) 35mm feature - Endless Bummer - Camera Intern. I live in Ventura, CA and graduated from Brooks Institute 3 yrs ago. My most recent training has been P2 Camp and Reducation from Createasphere.

I don't know if I should also include that I like walks on the beach, full moons, and can't stand watching moronic comedies (but they are great to work on).

Welcome to the boards.

What's the wildest scenario you've encountered on repairing audio equipment? Like did someone get a mic bit by a polar bear or something?

Sorry, entirely forgot about this sight. No polar bears eating mics. I did have a black bear cub playing with a Canon 400mm prime lens. An medium sized lighting, grip, and camera package spilled on the highway, after the RV it was in got creamed by a semi.

Hey, Matt!

Good to see you here.

Guys, I have worked with and know Matt - great guy and a valuable asset to any situation - well, unless you want to keep lenses away from black bear cubs...
