Just another hack trying to make a film...

Hello all, I'm mostly a lurker, but I don't mind chiming in if I can help. Thanks to the powers that be (operators of the forum) for this great and informative resource, and to all that contribute useful and positive info. I'm making a film about my dads adventures in Alaska in the 70's.

Welcome Grasshopper!
I'm one of the audio guys here.
Always remember:

Your project will only look as good as it sounds, because

Thanks for the welcome, AlcoveAudio. Was worried I was among the ignored and forgotten...
Can't wait to get my Tascam and shotgun mic to start practicing. Any suggestions? Boom or camera mount? For far-away shots with audio, should i get lapel mics or just hide the Tascam close by???

Well mostly he carpented... LOL. He was a carpenter but had wanted to go moose hunting since he had arrived in Anchorage and met someone who became his best friend. He finally got the chance after being in Alaska for 4 years and when he did... well it didn't go as planned. Twice! :grumpy: I was born in Alaska 2 years before his adventure and have heard the story hundreds of times. Now I want to preserve the story and share it with my and my siblings children.
