IPIFF 2006 : FREE Submission for Premiere Members

Indietalk.com Premiere Members,

It pleases me to inform you that my father and I's dream of the past five years to hold a film festival is coming true. On August 24th-26th, 2006 the Idaho Panhandle International Film Festival ( http://www.ipiff.com ) will take place, at the Historic 550-seat two-tiered Panida Theater (Panida.org) in beautiful downtown Sandpoint, Idaho. We have been joined by several staff members, a volunteer crew, and several industry professionals whom will serve as tiebreaker judges. The three-day event will feature nearly 30 hours of programming, including guest speakers, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers - rounded out by a Saturday Night Awards presentation.

Our call for entries has already opened, and we are accepting both Withoutabox.com and Paper entries on our website.

But for Indietalk Premiere members only, we are offering a very special offer - FREE ENTRY. That's right! Simply go to our website, read & understand the instructions, and download the Adobe Acrobat PDF Official Submission Form. This form is fillable but you will need to print and sign/date.

Make sure to write your indietalk.com Premiere user name on your form, then come to indietalk.com and send me a private message from your account letting me know you've sent it.

MORE INFO

From our website...

"WE ARE COMMITTED TO PUTTING ON A HIGH QUALITY SHOW

Sandpoint, Idaho is a fantastic town situated in the midst of lakes, rivers, creeks, a ski & outdoor sport mountain resort, the towering Selkirk Mountains, and a way of life that celebrates life and the arts. The historic 550-seat two tiered Panida Theater (http://panida.org) will be our venue for all 30+ hours of the festival, local Pend d’Oreille Winery and Laughing Dog Brewing will be pouring their beverages at the event. Northern Idaho’s people are very deserving and supportive of a true international film festival that allows them to see films they would never have a chance to see otherwise. Hence, we are giving the festival-goers, our sponsors, and our filmmakers as much quality for their dollar as possible. This is not a film festival taking place in a hotel suite, nor are we trying to become another Park City. What we are about is giving everyone a high quality show for a reasonable price, involving our sponsors, and treating everyone, especially our filmmakers, with respect and appreciation."

FAQ:

1: How many can each of us here submit? I would like to send in multiple films.
A: Thats a very good point, we'd love to look at all of everybody's films but I think to remain fair to indietalk members and ourselves, we'll restrict this offer to just one film per member. If you have both of your films or multiple on the same DVD, we will only be looking at the one you have submitted for. You're welcome to use our WAB or paper entry though and take advantage of our earlybird discount for your other films if you'd like to submit those though!

Everyone please remember to PM me when you have sent the submission form off with what your entry is. Thanks :)

Wicked Cool. Once I find out where my copy of Macbeth 3000 went, I'll copy and send. Awesome job. Film festivals rock.

Reminder: You have until Thursday to take advantage of this offer. So far we've received two indietalk.com submissions and we'd like more certainly... hey its free what do you have to lose?

dylan61,

There are several reasons behind that decision. One is that Sandpoint, ID is a fairly conservative community. Secondly, many of our sponsors have asked that their image not be associated with horror films. Finally, we have only 30 hours of programming to fill for our first festival (this will double next year however) and we are already accepting Narrative & Documentary & Animation Shorts & Features.

We'll make a decision based on our audience polls whether they want a horror category to be added for next year's fest - which we will have twice the venues and 60 hours of programming.

Argh!

I just did my WAB submission for "Rubble" and then found the note on your post about paper entries for Indietalkers.

Argh!

I will include the paper form with my submission as well.

How'd it go sir?

It went really really well. We had a ton of fun, filmmakers really enjoyed it, our audience was blown away by the films, the post awards party and the 3 mixers and the 2 panels went great. All in all a very successful first festival and we plastered indietalk.com all over the screen during intermissions!

Allie had her premiere with us and documented it: http://www.allieraye.com/idaho_panhandle_internationa.htm

Read some of our other press here: http://ipiff.com/newsandpress.html , especially Dan Webster of the Spokesman Review and Luke Baumgarten of the Inlander's reviews.

Also, what you wont see, and I need to address it, is we made the cover of the local arts/media rag, "The Reader" and also check it out - right on the front of the chamber of commerces website! - http://sandpointchamber.org/

So yes, and don't worry about missing this one, we are already putting together our winter festival which I will be posting about within the next month. Its going to be twice as large (or larger) and we'll have 2 locations... one of which will be a new thing for film festivals. Let me drop a hint of at least what we are planning - ski to your screening ;)

Thanks for the interest guys! And yes, I will be offering free early bird to Premiere members again!

Killer Squirrel by Lilith was accepted to the fest and won "Best Live-Action Cartoon" :)
