It looks like there's a translation issue here, and me, being the supreme universal translator that I am, have taken upon myself the utmost responsibility of translating the questions that Mr. ad2478 is asking in this post, in the spirit of summing things up.
1. Question: Can you please mention the names of as many movie as possible which were released on DVD only and did good business...if you have any info please tell me
Translation: Off the top of your head, name some movies which were direct to DVD and made lots of money.
Ok, sounds good. He's just trying to throw out a line on the chance someone will be nice enough to drop some titles he can then research on Google or something.
2. Question: (i hope you know my toplic 1k = 35mm film?)
Translation: I don't even know. WTF.
Here, I'm sure some other people went batshit trying to figure this one out too.
3. Question: i said successfull movies released on DVds only.so should i place successfull also before direct to dvd movies????
Translation:
I think the more appropriate question is "What is success??" And the answer is "The achievement of a goal", so how do we know if something is successful unless we know the goals of the people making that thing. "Is a movie that's only released on DVD successful?"... "What if the goal was simply to make and complete a movie?" ... there's a whack-load of philosophical questions raised this line of inquiry.
So my point is, ad2478, that success is a very specific and individual measurement. To some people, success is a certain dollar amount, to others it is a status/title, to others it is an experience, etc, etc. Once you define your goals, you can ask more specific questions... eg. "I want to make an independent movie for the Pakistan/International market with a budget of $25,000 and become a millionaire and buy an island in the south pacific... anyone have any advice on how to achieve that?"
4. Question: can you tell me what does this mean for you?when a movie is made and is said that the movie is doing good business does that mean that the movie is a superflop with no selling? or does that mean the movie has been liked by people and is gaining good revenues?
i dont know how much specific i should be? every filmmaker knows when it is said that the movies is doing good business it means it is generating good revenue than compared to its orignal invesment
Translation: Actually, this is a statement, despite all the ?s. One that shows quite well how confusing English on the Internet can be. ad2478, please, take a bit more time to try and explain things right off the bat in the future- because this is the gabillionth time people have rubbed you the wrong way, and it's pretty much exclusively because sometimes you don't make any sense.
