It's highly unlikely that a production in the UK would audition people in the US because they have ample actors there. The cost of travel and accommodations if they DID cast you would be high, and is only something that a company is likely to do for a name actor. Plus they would need to get permission for a non-resident to work in the country, which is both expensive and a lot of work - again, something a company is (very) unlikely to do for a non-name actor.

There are plenty of production companies in LA and NY, and quite a few elsewhere - Florida, Atlanta, etc. You'll have

Can I apply for roles that the movie would take place in the UK? If not what would you recommend if I wanna apply for British films?

Go to Backstage, click LA Casting Calls.
Then click Filter Results.
In the Keyword box, type England, English, UK, cockney, etc.
There you go.
