I Love You Phillip Morris Contest

I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS is the improbable but true story of a spectacularly charismatic conman’s journey from small-town businessman to flamboyant white-collar criminal, who repeatedly finds himself in trouble with the law and on the lam, brilliantly escaping from the Texas prison system on four separate occasions – all in the name of love. Starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor.

We have an Official 'I Love You Phillip Morris T-Shirt' to give away to the person who answers the following question correctly:

How much money did Jim Carrey's character give himself as a Christmas Bonus in 'I Love You Phillip Morris' ?

Hint: You can find the answer in the Official Trailer Below

I will not watch it in a box. I will not watch it with a fox. I will not watch it on a plane. I will not watch it on a train.

Actually, I think the movie looks sweet. I'm a big Jim Carrey fan, and I've been waiting on this one, for a while. I don't want that stupid T-Shirt, though.

But seriously, I can't wait to see this movie.

Is this movie EVER going to come out?! I really want to see it.

If there are any distributors out there reading this, stop being so homophobic and let us have a gay romantic comedy that can stand on it's own outside of the 'special interest' section of the video store!

I think I should be clear: I didn't watch cause it is a 1st post advert. Not cause its a GayRomCom. I just invented a new word.

Nope, Nick. US distributors won't touch it. At least that was the last I heard.

I really wish they would at least go straight to DVD or something. This movie looks great.

Going straight might not be the best idea for this movie. Bah-dom-tshh!

According to boxofficemojo, we finally get to see it in December.

That's good news. I hope it ends up being the case, but I'm still skeptical as the film's wikipedia page has listed many release dates, all of which eventually get pushed farther and farther back

Let's hope this marketing campaign is a sign that it's really gonna happen this time.

I just worked on a Gay RomCom last month in a supporting role with Morgan Fairchild and John Callahan which was a really fun and amazing experience...plus I have a really funny scene! It has distribution and will have a small theatrical release (as did the director's last film). So hopefully this one, with the push of Carey, will get a major release.

I'm yet to see this, but I'm certain it's been released here, even more so with Nick's comments.

Again "Freedom" has been stripsearched, demoralised, and given it's stamp of disapproval. Even with its apparant realease, it's an outrage that its showing should have ever been in question.

bez, I think that the fact that it's 2 A-list actors in the romantic leads is the main reason it's had problems getting distribution. Sure, a lot of gay romcoms have been made and distributed, but I haven't seen one that has two A-listers playing the romantic leads, especially when one of those A-listers is considered a (hetero) sex symbol to a lot of women.

Paper, I totally agree. The whole idea of companies not wanting to touch this film makes me want to retch. Just consider yourself lucky that you live in a country that was smart enough to drive the Puritans out. Too bad they all came here... :(
