Today I picked up eleven (11) boxes of 3/4" acoustic foam. There are four (4) sheets of 4'x4' in each box. It's even a decent color! That's 176 square feet of sound treatment FOR FREE!!! I could have gotten more, but that was all I could fit in the car, and more guys were arriving when I was finishing up.

I absolutely LOVE Freecycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I joined Freecycle, after the last time you found all those crazy eggcrate foam things.

Noone down here seems to use the darn thing. :(

It takes about 10 minutes a day for me to sort through everything - I have an email account dedicated to Freecycle and similar "throwaway" sites.

Zen - where are you located? I'm assuming the West Coast; NoHo - North Hollywood? Of course, to me NoHo is NYC - North of Houston St.
