I had some computer effects done for me, that I hired a special effects specialist for. When she emailed the files back to me, I payed her. But the files are in apcn format, my computer tells me. I cannot play the files, nor can my Premiere Pro program. I emailed her about it, and she says I just need to convert them. But how? I cannot seem to find a way.

Hope you realise you could have done this effect yourself in probably half the time you've been farting around with 'professionals' and file formats!!!
sign replace is one of those bread and butter things.. I used it recently.. where I changed a church into a school, the new sign has a big misspelling as an Easter egg for the critics..
I've counted what I think are 3 specific projects thus far... with clips from the first, questions about writing for the second and questions about cinematography for the third (which may be the production of the second).
I feel H44 is legit, just very un-confident in their skillset/knowledge... or how to approach fixing the problems they encounter and notice (which are being noticed by them).

H44 is definitely sincere, and he's not making anything up. What you see is what you get.
And he's definitely made his movie. I watched it the other night, before he removed it from youtube (or made it a private listing). Since it's now private, I won't reveal even any minor details, but the version I saw seemed to be the locked edit, with rough audio.
And H44, the shot in question, that you started this thread for -- it doesn't matter. Just get that audio work done, and release the damn movie.

None intentionally, but I didn't catch them until post, and by then I had figured out that I wouldn't be getting into Sundance anyway. Dude, the kind of festivals you'll have even an inkling of getting into won't care about, and probably won't notice a phone number. Nor is the company going to notice. Fuck it, just finish the damn movie and move on to the next project.

What he ^^^ said about the logo things.. In the Hot Rod, I could fix a few obvious logos on hats and what not, but why bother, who is going to care? If someone does, then ill spend the time fixing it, until then, meh......

I watched a section of his movie (before he'd made lots of cuts) with someone and we both laughed out loud. It was really funny and we both commented he has a genuinely natural gift for comedy and I complimented him on this. I thought it was a genuinely excellent pastiche / spoof. He then told me it wasn't a comedy...
I just had a trusted source rewatch our latest cut of the film we're editing, and I got the same reaction on the first cut... laughter at the pivotal moment, it was supposed to be a surprised gasp. The months of re-edits have made the transition much better and we got a much better reaction from the most recent one.
I'd be interested to hear if the re-edits have fixed that problem... timing, pacing, and content delivery order can completely change a presentation of information (story telling).
