Hi.

My name is Craig, and I'm an addict. All I can think about is video but I'm all over the map. I've come here hoping to find some clarity and direction.

I'm 38 years old, from Long Island, and am an avid historian. I practically no experience in video, editing, production, etc... other than what I've been teaching myself over the past year. Now while a year sounds to me like a fair bit of time, I will say that I have a full time job installing home electronics as well as a wife and 10 month old boy. It's not easy finding the time, but I'm managing. What I'm gearing up for is to create HD documentary videos of Long Island's forgotten history. I'd then like to have them displayed on a website, and then promote them to other websites that have interest in Long Island's history.

I've gotten together some basic equipment (2 prosumer HD camcorders, bluetooth mics, a decent computer with some editing software, a few mounting rigs both purchased and self made, some basic lighting, and a green screen) The hard part is learning how to use all of it.

Yea, I'm fairly sure I'm an addict. Is addict the PC term nowadays? I'm fairly sure junkie went out with the 70's. Well, either way, I'm looking to chat (and learn) with others who can give me tips and pointers on how best to approach my new addiction.

See ya in the forums!
-Craig.
