Hey Steve! Well the most success I have had so far is with the Distrify player for which I am charging $.99 to watch the sci fi short in the link in my sig. I've just had a few streaming rentals but it is a 3% preview to rental conversion rate which is not bad from a direct marketing response standpoint.
I avoided crowd sourcing for this first short and I just funded it myself. Now I want to do a feature version that will obviously require more $. So we shall see how to best raise funds. Working on the script for the feature first.
Oh and I am glad you checked out the music : ) I have been adding music to that collection for 4 years now! My role model for my site is Kevin at Incompetech who is just an incredibly prolific composer and great guy. He has been offering creative commons music for 10 years and has 900+ tracks.
