archived-videos "Focus" - Made with a broken camera

So my friends and I broke my handycam making a short much more... ambitious than this one. A rogue frisbee nailed it while it was recording and the gadget that controls the focus was broken. Now it's stuck to the focus in which it was broken, and zooming in or out blurs everything.

But being creative people we decided to utilize this.

lol. It may be my female-ness but I didn't like the ending :) I would have liked to
see it get more existential.

But clever idea! Limitations can be a great inspiration sometimes.

btw, what camera do you have, did the focus ring break or do you control it on
the lcd display? If it's the latter, have you tried removing and reattaching the
battery? This can fix a lot of problems.



This out of focus idea reminds me of that Woody Allen movie Deconstructing Harry.
One of the scenes has Robin Williams playing a guy who's out of focus. It's funny :)

Do you know, I think you could actually make it better by having everything else but him be in focus. If you have a wider shot of when he's in focus, you could composite that with the blurry guy using a rough feathered mask, maybe. :)
