Is Flatland (the original book by Edwin Abbott published in 1884) simply in the public domain or did you have to get permission from the family/estate who still hold any type of copyright?

Hey Robert -

It's actually in public domain, which means anyone can make an adaptation! In fact there are two previous to mine, and there's a fourth that got started the same time as mine but is still not released. I think it's a 1/2 hour educational piece with Martin Sheen, geared towards the educational market.
