First Camera?

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend cameras for a first timer. I'd most likely be taking that with me to university next year.
Budget most likely around £200 to £300

I'm NOT looking to buy anything from someone here, just looking for what people recommend.

I would look at used HDV cameras. There's a good amount for sale and you can get by with a moderately powered computer to edit.

Also, try contacting the university and simply ask if there's a camera recommendation list for their courses.
You may even have to find out from a specific instructor or ask students.
