Filmmaker arrested, 1st Amendment trampled...

Oh wait... dressing nephew up as terrorist, arming him with a grenade launcher, and parading him up & down the busy streets while aiming it at cars is probably not covered under that 1st Amendment thingmabob, after all.

Heh, I'm surprised they weren't arrested immediately. Following up by posting to YouTube was pretty dang dumb.

At least there was no Darwin Award issued... this time.

That filmmaker is one of my best friends. He's the reason I got into filmmaking and he's taught me almost everything I know about the business. Sending him positive thoughts! Hope things just smooth themselves out. Irregardless of this debacle, he's a brilliant filmmaker and an even better person. The situation was dangerous though, nobody can argue that!

"In the film, the narrator who police identified as Turley, said he wanted to see how long it took authorities to respond. The introduction to the video mentions the July 20 theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., that killed 12."

What if...

Because of the awareness of the Colorado shooting a passerby, seeing
this masked teen, dressed in a sheet, marching back and forth at an
intersection with the rocket-propelled grenade launcher on his shoulder
pulled out a gun and shot him. Thinking he was stopping a potential
repeat of the Colorado shooting.

I'm so glad nothing bad happened. I hope Turley is convicted of
endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Technically, yes that is protected under the 1st amendment. There may be less than desirable consequences that come from doing it, but it's certainly within ones rights to do so.

i was not aware the 1st amendment had a paragraph protecting a persons right to be stupid.

learn something new everyday.....
