Festivals and nipples...

"Johnny Montana," an indie feature on which I did the audio post, has full female nudity and males from behind (), blocked or shadowed from the front. Lots of weird, kinky sex scenes as the protagonist is a male prostitute.

Obviously, nudity and sex is acceptable (except when it's gratuitous) but it all depends upon the festival.

What are generally film festival regs for shorts where breasts are on display? Also, love scenes? Is this automatic disqualification?
Each film festival is run by people independent of each other. There
are no "film festival regs" that they all must follow. I suspect that
the Wichita Children's Film Festival is less tolerant of nudity than
ScreamFest.

Before entering take a look at their website, look at past entries and
contact the people running it.

I was talking with Michael Rowe and his (current) producer on the weekend. From what I understood, he won the Caméra d'Or at Cannes (Best First time director) and his film contained lots of nudity. That was in 2010, so times may have changed.

Not sure if that's a large enough festival to answer your question.

Thanks Sweetie. Nipples can be good.
