Favorite Horror Films

Yeah, the score for CAT PEOPLE is on of my favorites. Kinski and McDowell are great to watch.

Criminally Insane, wow, definitely going to rent that.

I don't want to betray your expectations; that movie is horrible....but so damn bad that it is funny. Some of the most non-PC dialogue you have ever heard.

I'm not really a major fan of horror movies, but here's some that stood out for me -

Alien - (The really is nowhere to run to, and nodbody to hear you scream. Perfect horror!)

The Shining - (A masterpeice, and a lot deeper than I first realised)

Bad Taste - (The first PJ film I saw. Stupid, but awesome movie)

Brain Dead - (Best. Zombie film. Everrrrr.)

Jacob's Ladder - (Geniunely disturbing classic)

Umm... I've run out :D

How about fave or "most appreciated" horror films from the last two/three years?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_horror_films_of_2013

I don't think I enjoyed or appreciated any of those from 2011. Watched ten of those on that list.

Watched fourteen from 2012.
Liked 'The Cabin in the Woods'.
Appreciate the marketing for 'The Devil Inside', but was a lame-@ss film.
Thought 'The Possession' was beautifully color graded.
'Prometheus' p!ssed me off to no living end.
'Silent House' was kinda cool in concept.

Have seen six of the 2013 films.
'Warm Bodies' is the only one I think I enjoyed and would watch again or recommend.
I didn't get the hoopla over 'Mama.' Meh...

Bit late but...

Horror is certainly my forte. I've seen A LOT. My picks are based on just balls out impact and the impression it had when I first saw it. Sure people often now downplay a lot of these but at the time of release a lot of these were trend setters. My top 10....

1. Cube
2. Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight
3. Martyrs
4. Cannibal Holocaust
5. Aliens
6. The Blair Witch Project
7. [Rec] / Quarantine
8. Frontiers
9. Critters
10. Paranormal Activity
