OK,
Wife has agreed to a Scott Family Christmas video.. so I need me some ideas..

Its my family video with kids so keep it clean..

I'm getting better at green screen so ....

A combination of A Christmas Carol and The Santa Clause. You can play the guy who gets roped into being Santa, and the North Pole has been outsourced to the US (cheap labor). But you're a total scrooge about it and use your wife and children as slave labor to make all the toys.

I don't have an ending yet...
 
What about some kind of Forrest Gump effect? Use green-screen, and your excellent technical abilities to place you and your family in classic movies. Some kind of wise-cracking mash-up. Like, go make fun of George Bailey, when he's considering jumping from the bridge.

Or, something.
 
How about you guys trapped inside a holiday snow globe? Starts out serene and peaceful, snow falling, then we slowly pull outwards, through the glass of the snowglobe, and everyone inside realizes they are trapped and starts banging on the glass. Test all kinds of AE and greenscreen skills.
