Start at the bottom?

Why the hell didn't I think of that!?!

j/k

Seriously though, why do so many in the film industry feel that their point is best made by shouting? At least he settles down after the beginning.

Love it!

1. Do this...
2. Do that...
3. Blah blah...
4. Make a good film.
5. Sell it.
6. Make another one for ten times as much money.

Any schmuck can do it!

I think in hind sight that personally being unable to afford what he has to offer shouldn’t be the fuel that runs my mouth.

I’m not all into what he has going on, but I don’t want to not at least give him a fair shake either.

I like his ambition, and the consolidation of info on his page (Including this site I believe), and I like that he has some info free in his online clips. (It’s better than no info at all, and it’s free), and I respect that he served his country, but for me personally there is nothing I see in presentation or content overview that I could spend $400 for a two day course on. Not that I wouldn’t want to know what he has to say (Because why not at least hear what he has to say?), but from a financial stand point I feel a safer bet would be to outfit myself with an array of books that are widely considered as fundamental reading.

I can understand if $400 isn’t that much to some, and the seminar type crash course suits others, but neither are for me.

-Thanks-

I agree with directorik's general summation -- he's a good Motivational Speaker.

I've watched a few hours of his DVD. Actually, to be honest, I rather enjoyed it. However, based on what I saw, I wouldn't recommend a purchase. Probably better to just hang around indietalk, drink a Red Bull, listen to this, and you're ready to rock.

richy, I'll save you the money.

1. Write (or find) a great scirpt.
2. Find an experienced DP, an experienced producer.
3. Find people with money to finance the film.
4. With the experienced people and the money find
three more experienced people; AD, scripty, audio.
5. Make the movie.
6. With a great film finished - sell it.

That's what he tell you.

He gives no more details than I did - he just takes longer to
say it and says it well. And I fully admit, he is a great motivational
speaker. He really gets you fired up to write, find crew, find money
and make a movie.
