So Here's my dilema, I have to films that i need to upload to a website for my college portfolio. The Max i can upload is 60mb.....My one is 1.57 gb and the other is 507.7 mb. I tried using compressor and the files sizes barely went down buts thats probably because im doing something wrong. Any suggestions?

Try the free program Handbrake and choose the Youtube HQ settings and go from there.

How are you compressing it inside compressor? If you pick an MP4 or h.264 format it should go down in size quite a bit.

Handbrake is a great way to go too.

In compressor, use the Web Download or Web Streaming presets. They should show you estimated output file sizes before you hit go somewhere in the window.

As mentioned, H264 is one way to go for online material. Just keep an eye on ur data rate. That can raise or lower the size quite a bit. Keep it around 5000 (or more if have room for a larger file size) for HD.
