lighting Clamp Lights in the UK

Hi all!

In the States, this type of light is always mentioned in tutorials etc, in connection to low-budget filmmaking:

I've also used this type of lamp myself when shooting. It's very useful! They're also very cheap.

However, I just cannot find where to buy them in London, UK! It seems like they don't exist here.

Does anyone know where to get them in London? Or is there an equivalent product that low-budget UK filmmakers use?

Thanks!

amazon.com I recommend the ACDelco clamp lights as they'll last quite a bit longer and have much longer cords. If they have them in UK type of power, they will serve you well - or just get a converter for them.

Where the clamp attaches to the back of the light is the weak point on most of these lights... the thickness of the straps that hold onto the actual fixture and the joint that makes it turn where you want it are often made of REALLY weak stuff (they are cheap after all). The friction knuckles tend to stop grabbing making the clamps useless after 3-4 productions. The weak straps make the fixture not stay attached to the clamp after 5-10 shows.

The ACDelco fixtures have thicker aluminum straps and are bolted at the hinge rather than relying on friction to hold the head in place. If you'll be using these for a while (no-budget like me)... buy them right once and save alot in the long run... I'd re-purchased clamp lights over and over until I bought 3 of the ACDelcos... then I stopped purchasing them. 5 years later, they are still in my kit, joints and strapping intact.
