Capitalization?

I've been reading some scripts lately, and noticed that some items are in all capitals, and some aren't. Anyone know why this is?

When people & important objects are introduced for the very first time, they are capitalised to make them stand out a bit.

Once they have been introduced to the reader, they revert back to standard capitalisation.

Well... it's something like that. Not 100% sure of the exact rules. I'm a sloppy writer. :)

There are many different reasons. Very often it's an older
script using an outdated style. Sometimes it's a new writer
who doesn't understand the proper use of caps. Sometimes
established writers continue to use a shooting script style.

As a reader I don't like caps. I don't like my eye to be STOPPED
by everything a WRITER thinks is IMPORTANT. I just like to
read the story.

The only time caps are used is when a character is first introduced.

Caps are used when new characters are introduced. It can also be used to show a specific action. I've even seen it introduce an important object.

I don't mind caps in these cases.
