action Best Intimate Sex Scene

I have a story that requires a sex scene. This is the first time I have ever felt that a story needed a sex scene. The scene is not about the sex, but about the relationship of the characters and their deep love for and devotion to each other. As a little background, the couple in question have lived together for awhile and have just gotten engaged in a very romantic way. What do you think is the best written sex scene in a film that conveys these emotions? I have already chosen Ghost, so I am looking for others. Feel free to suggest your own ideas on how to best write this scene.

I have always liked the subtle montage approach. There are some films where there needs to be some explicit sexuality (I worked on one with lots of nudity and several explicit scenes) but I feel that most of the time it is simply gratuitous.

I thought that the love scene in "The Illusionist" was right on the mark. (about 1:20 in this clip)

The scene In "Forrest Gump" where Jenny finally gives in to Forrest starts in close with their dialog, but pulls out of the room to let them have their moment in private. (about 2:40)

The suggestion of what is happening can be extremely erotic/sensual/romantic.

Thank you all for the suggestions and clips. As I stated, I have never before thought one of my stories needed to have a sex scene in it. Consequently, I have never written one. I read a lot of manuscripts and screenplays where the sex scene(s) is/are simply there to provide the audience with a visceral thrill. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, it just doesn't apply to this story. This particular scene is a natural progression of the preceding scene and is meant to show how very much in love these two are. If I can score a few points with the audience for the scene being erotically stimulating as well, that's what we in New Orleans refer to as lagniappe (a little something extra).

You might be overthinking it. I mean, not thinking too much about how to do it but overthinking a sex scene in general which is common. Even Seinfeld had sex scenes. So in your story it is important to know they had sex. Not a big deal. You can show it, suggest it, have it come up in conversation, cut away from it, use sound, etc. Be creative and do what comes natural.

This is why i said to watch Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

It's so incredibly nuanced with just a look. or slight body language. the nuance of the camera and acting is the foundation of the entire film... if you just had it come up in conversation you would be hacking at the story with a blunt machete.

I have only written one single sex scene. I have to admit that it was really tough actually, to write a proper sex scene, which would not be neither too vulgar nor too "sweet", as I also had to make something similar, I had to show the relationship of the characters and their deep love for and devotion to each other. It was pretty tough for me, as I am kind of ... sex addicted. When reading this kind of things I am getting way too excited. Because of that, I even had to buy these things https://lovermart.com/product-category/dildos/porn-star-dildos/ . Those dildos help me a lot in order to "calm" my sex drive.

If you're referring to Natalkirlin, I think she was just here to promote sex toys. She only made 2 posts. If you mean my sex scene, I have stated that it's difficult because the sex isn't the point of the scene. The scene is to show the deeply spiritual and physical connection between the MC and his newly engaged girlfriend.

In that case imho it is not necessary

My tip when writting the script is altough it's mean to be a romantic scene, stick to their actions. Think on what the characters would do in that situation and just write down their actions.

Recently I saw this anime, "Tokyo Ghoul", and maybe you can analize the scene below and let your taste choose how would you recreate this scene. Might inspire you!

Sorry about the format, I couldn't find another better looking link for free...
