Become a premium member?

Hey folks! I’m a big DIY kind of guy. More for the satisfaction of it kind of like the fly fisherman that ties his own flies.

Anyway I’m thinking of becoming a premium member so I can get access to the ideas from the people that post on the DIY data base but after looking at the last activity the forum had its over three months old.

Anyone think it’s worth $25?

yes...

look at it this way... have you found anything on this site usefull...

anything... does anyones advice here or any of there comments helped you...

if so... dont be stingy...

this is just my opinion... but here me out...

i have run multiple websites
rccaokianwa.org
crowdedheadspace.com
poboycustoms.net
and a couple of other sites that were just for people to express there work...

it costs me HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS A YEAR... to keep all these sites running for people to get online chat with each other ask questions and relay info... and on top of that show off there stuff... brag about there work... teach people how to do what they do...

and i ask for nothing... (i make decent money i dont need it) ... but... i know that there are a lot of people out there that want this... and any time some one does donate money... i dont say no to it... because thats less struggle off my back...

imagine for a second... you have a car... and non of your friends have one... but... they got some money they just dont know how to budget it good enough to buy a car... like you do...

so they keep asking you for rides... and you dont mind because its cool... then one day you are down to your last 3 dollars because you blew a tire coming home from work and you dont get paid for another day or two... and few friends swing by and say...
"hey man can you give us a ride"
you respond apethetically "sorry guys would love to but i dont have the gas money"

and instead of them saying oh thats cool we will pay for gas... they complain...

how would you feel...

by no means will i feel the need to donate to a full member ship... but atleast give the place some gas money to keep it going...

who knows... one day the individual running this site could just say
"hey guys im running low on cash and no one is donating... so i got to close up shop for awhile to keep my server costs down... do you guys mind"

i would def pitch money in... because even though i have only been on this site for a few weeks... i get why the site was made... for people like us to have the conversations we do and have a pile of info just mounted up and ready for you to use

Donating to this site is a different matter altogether. I was just curious why there hasn’t been any activity on the premiere DIY data base since last year.

I’m new to the site also, maybe by the time I get my post count up to double digits I’ll know if it’s a forum I will frequent or not.

In other words I’ll pitch in for gas after I know if I need a ride.

Usually lags in premiere areas of the forum happen when we're out making or promoting movies. I can only answer for myself, but it's definitely worth the annual fee.

Even a thread that is inactive can have a lot of useful info in it. Especially when you're talking about the DIY section. There are jib and dolly schematics just sitting there for the reading (plus more stuff I can't remember now). It's not like people still need to be talking about it for it to be useful. Know what I mean?
