adventures of sucktin

includes possible spoilers:::

This movie SUCKED. Spielberg.. what happened??!!

The graphics was amazing, audio was great, music - superb! but the story- holy mother of god.. story was sooo boring. characters - really boring and not interesting.
There is no character arc what so ever of ANY of the characters. I didn't think that was possible, but I really didn't care for any of the movie, and that made it really really really boring.

When i was watching this movie, i ve had the feeling as if I was watching somebody playing a video game. I haven't laughed at all at corny jokes, and my lady fell asleep in the middle of the movie..

from burps being used as airplane fules, to stupid unchanging impressions on tintin face, it just sucked.

i really hoped the story telling machine called Spielberg could give the cartoon some life.. But I guess Tintin is just a soulless devil.

I liked it. I was a Tintin fan as a kid (also a fan of Asterix). And I especially loved Captain Haddock. I was so pleasantly surprised when Bianca Castafiore showed up. I thought "Finally, I get to hear her voice." But it was much less potent than it was in my mind.

Overall, I thought it was good movie for Tintin fans. I'm just not sure what Spielberg really did as a "director." But I enjoyed it.

Oh, come on, it wasn't THAT bad.

I agree that there are story issues and it was as dizzyingly uncontrolled as any Michael Bay film but it had a good sense of fun and looked phenomenal. Sometimes you've just got to let it wash over you (and also remember that it is, fundamentally, a kids' movie)...

Be careful what you say. Cracker will be here soon. *Ominous Background Music*

:lol::lol::lol:!!!!!

You know me too well. Yes, I am a Spielberg fanboy, no apologies given.

I'll see it this week, and I plan to get really, really, ummmm...let's just say I expect that the 3D is going to look amazing to me. No apologies there, either. :D

Hey Cracker, don't worry about what I wrote above. I didn't give anything away about the story. You'll like it.

Also, I'm a fellow Spielberg fanboy. In fact I get into arguments with people all the time over Spielberg.

I would love to see what CF has to say about the movie.
Don't get me wrong, I do love spielberg, and he is an amazing storyteller.. i. Was just utterly upset..

I thought "Finally, I get to hear her voice." But it was much less potent than it was in my mind.

:lol: I think no one can match the imaginations of old Tintin readers when it comes to her voice. We all have such a horrendously powerful idea of it in our minds.

As for the film, even though it created new scenes, changed one of the comics completely to fit another storyline... it stayed faithful to the characters and as such it was still an entertaining watch. It felt like i got to watch new scenes with the same old characters that i love.

I wish Remi was alive to see this. I would've really loved to hear this opinion.

I can entirely stand behind something that is designed to please the fans. That said, over the years, I've tried and tried but can't get into Tintin. I've read some of the comics, watched some of the old cartoons, it just never grabbed me.

I'll watch this when it comes out on dvd, I'm sure, but from what I gather, if you don't already like Tintin, this film won't change your mind.

Asterix, on the other hand, is awesome in all forms!
