This film was made for the 48 hour film project in Utrecht 2010.

Within 48 hours we were requested to create a "Buddy film" with the following components:
- A goldfish
- The line "the summer is over"
- Character Kirsten Neumann, a haiku poet

This was made in the Netherlands with a fully international crew (8 nationalities out of 11 people).

We didn't get any prize, still we are very proud of our result considering our limitations. We wanted to correct quite a few things, but for the sake of time that was not possible.

Also we filmed on quite different scenarios (at the same place though), and the weather kept changing the light a lot, even within the same take outside.

Also the accents and the way the actors talk is kind of funny, but that was somehow intentional.

Please provide feedback, good or bad, we are getting better everyday, partly thanks to the feedback from this forum!

I enjoyed it very much. The hitman angle was good. The idea that popped in my head: A beach party. Everyone is having a good time til someone chokes to death on a goldfish..."summer's over":) 8 nationalities working together?? You guys better stop it, you'll make the U.N. look bad. :)
 
Thanks Murdock. Having different people from different places is cool but also a limitation regarding acting and diction. As well we had to always get back to the only English native for some words and expressions that were not good. Even we left a few grammar mistakes in there.

We wanted to make a fast pace film, maybe it went too fast. But the footage didn't allow us to extend it on the right places. That's the problem with the 48 hours.
 
You guys always manage to create and pull off these really chemistry/conflict fueled incidental scenes that seem deceptively simple, yet the way they hold everything together and keep the story moving along so fast that the scenes melt into a sequence in the blink of an eye (to me) really showcases a gift and appreciation for that style. A feature length comedic crime caper from you guys is just begging to happen.

Thanks Buddy! We came up with the story in about 20 minutes. One day really need to put together a full feature but never had the courage to try. A few more shorts and we will be ready :-)
