I fear that the signal to noise ratio will plummet in this portion of the arts, as it has in every other segment thast has been "liberated" by home computers. Doubtless, there is going to be some fantastic new material to emerge as a result of this, but over time it will get harder and harder to...
This will be a very short diversion for most of you, but it was something that I felt needed saying or, perhaps, reinforcement.
That was before the earthquake in Japan, and now it might look as though the timing was ill considered. This was complete before then and our thoughts are with the...
So, this is my way more than humble entry for Tinalera's April Fool's Freaky Funk Fantastic Film Fest. Recent events have kind'a made the timing sucky on this one, but there's nothing for it.
The Sun Rose Twice
.
Ha ha ha... that was a good ending.
Not sure if it was intentional or not, but the "wig" he's talking to changes around a bit. It's very full in the early stages, but changes around 1:28 and 1:37 into the film. The latter is most noticeable.
There are some minor sound differences when...
Very interesting piece, particularly to hear about it from their own perspective. Great shooting. What camera were you using? Loved the titles at the end, as well as the shot itself.
Well done.
Guy walks up to his car at night, has had a couple. Puts his key in the door, but it doesn't work.
Fusses around for a bit, then notices the window is open a little. Disappears, then returns with a coat hanger.
Manages to open the door (making the entire scenario fiction) and gets in...
I have worked with Vegas Studio versions 6 through 10, and you will want to move to Pro as soon as you can afford it. They had a good deal recently and I jumped over, even after buying Studio 10 just a couple of months before. No regrets.
Given your machine specs, I am surprised at the depth of...
Nice solution for the "I need a lav" situation. Just one small caution and it won't apply to too many shoots, but I used one of these to gather narration while the camera was mounted outside a vehicle. The recording was about 20 minutes long.
I found that timing inaccuracies became noticeable...
Just a thought... start with what you want to see, and work backwards from there. Most solid state video sensors are IR sensitive, so go from there. LED-based solid state IR illuminators are plentiful and cheaper every day. There are also easily set up motion detectors, so a combination of the...
Good luck. I have always done fine by Vegas Studio, so I upgraded to Vegas Pro 10 recentlly. Its not a 'linear' upgrade, so I'm in the same position as you. Still, it seems tp hold its own against FCP.
I would strongly suggest having a backup unit, unless you are shooting right next to camera store. Things happen and your day will be very short, as well as for your crew, talent, etc. if you have to find a replacement camera on short notice.
It has happened to me, shooting live (stills...
