you can also do media manager.. it will move all the files associated with a single timeline so that way you will only keep whatever files you are using on the final cut.. it comes in handy too.. just an idea..

yes the client was happy with it.. i can definitely edit this down to 2 minutes but I already dumped so many great shots.. i think i will leave it like this for now. id hate to cut down out of these shots.

yeah and the key is to shoot it from different angles.. get tons of coverage so when you cut the moment it shows u got another angle.. get close ups, side shots, master shots, medium shots.. point of view shots.. coverage coverage coverage :) good luck with ur shoot :)

true that.. it ends just like that.. i would cut to the beat and also start with it going up the ski ramp and inter-cut it with the other footage.. end when its all the way up the ski ramp.. and then we can only imagine what happens next..

Apple Color is good.. :) worked on tv series that used color and it worked great!

definitely check out Russian Arc. and see behind the scenes.. they had an issue during the first take.. moving the camera from room temp to cold frozen outdoors.. the lens fogged up.. it can definitely be done, but you got to plan everything and direct it really well.. no room for misstakes...

here is a tip.. if you do color correction get a proper monitor.. if not get the best one for the price you find.. color corrected monitors are expensive so if you got a buddy that is a colorist is a plus. i work off two samsung LED monitors, they are quite cheap but awesome picture.. ofcourse...

Ive edited tv series and a tv movie.. if you use fcp you want to have bins where you throw all footage for each scene.. and go from there.. ive also had the experience where you got different cameras on different tracks.. so you got 3 cameras they will be synced but placed on different tracks...

ok i am re-visiting this topic cause i really want to buy one of these.. so basically its down to Vello vs Canon.. Vello is $52, Canon is $135.. any other units other than those two that you would recommend? i am looking on B&H..

I love my dslr.. it gives a nice depth of field look that video cameras at simular price range do not.. i dont like that video look.. and u can change the lens and get different looks :) great way to learn before u jump and play with the big boys.. red... arri.. panavision (why not)
