    Size of a 'Hollywood' feature

As we can see, the Full HD footage takes a lot of size. For example, 1min of HDSLR HD footage takes up to 330MB. So if I make a feature, say 90min long, it would take up to 30GB! We also know that the film format is 2K which, in theory, should take up twice as much. Sorry, if I wrote something...

    I'm all alone. Blah!

If it helps you, I feel the same way! It seems that I do everything alone from pre to post and the actors/friends... Anyway, What I find helpful is always to have a story or a script. When you have that as a base, you can always start finding crew/people who would like to help you and...

How many shorts before a feature?

Tell me what do you mean by 'practicing'? Do you mean shooting some nice views or some events or what? Because it depends and if the 'practice' is faster than making shorts, it's the way to go ;)

    No ideas...

Thanks... I have to admit never thought of it  Now when I look at it, it really makes sense... Thanks for the inspiration! But again about making something. Should I look for quality or for quantity? Shhould I shoot almost any thing that comes to my mind or find a good story?

    No ideas...

@Mimi910 Thanks for sharing your experience, it's nice to know someone was in my shoes, too! ;) @rayw Nice ideas, but again, they don't look appealing nor interesting. Should I still do it? A while back I came up with this idea and wanted to shoot it, but my friend told me it's crap and it's...

    No ideas...

Thanks, rayw, as always helpful! The team is not that big of a problem actually. Maybe I didn't emphasize it enough, but the problem is getting the right idea and writing a script. The whole week I'm just thinking thinking and filtering my brain for various hundreds of film ideas and nothing...

Make a film about a person new to a country experiencing new people, food etc Thanks for the suggestion! But that's not very amusing or interesting, more like predictable. You can show how he's struggling with the language, how he reacts to the food, traditions. It's boring.. That's what I...

    No ideas...

Well... First of all, there is no actual team nor lighting equipment, nor sound... That's not the point, I could do it all by myself, all I just need is an idea for film. From the very beginning of my interest in filmmaking I was taught and heard criticism and unintersting, dull films. Film have...

    No ideas...

Hello, I've been lately feeling frustrated and irritated. Every day I think and I think of any film/short or any idea and can't think of any reasonable ones. I feel guilty for having my camera laying on my table for weeks without work and I still have no ideas of any film I could make. I want...

@Rok Thanks for the info, but I'm don't have that high budget nor places, stuntmen, pods or several cameras. It'll require a lot of planning, I see.

cinematography Tips on shooting a motorcycle film race

Thanks, man, a LOOOOT! Honestly, I imagines it's gonna be loads of work but didn't think of that much! :( There'll be problems with stability of the handheld camera and especially with sounds. By the way, what do you mean by this thing?

cinematography Tips on shooting a motorcycle film race

Hello, I'll been soon shooting a film which includes a lot of motorcycle activity (racing, driving etc.) I wanted to ask you some tips on how to shoot these fast moving objects? Keep in mind that I can have as many takes as I want and all I have is a tripod and probably a car to follow. So how...

Thank you very much for an indpeth answer!!! About the movement, I was taught a looot that steady shots are the best which, obviously, affected me :D Do you really think that I should have more moving shots? (guess, I'll need to buy a steadicam :D ) As I see, there is a lot to learn and I will...

Well... It's my honest opinion and I swear I wouldn't use it to defend against your critique. I even had second thoughts about putting it online but it wouldn't be fair because some people are waiting for it. Again, I tried to be objective and I wanted to see your opinion. Since I don't like...

I found this idea on the internet and it seemed very interestingly ambiguous. So I decided to make a film... Personally, I don't like the final result, it looks stupid. Anyway, critique and tips are always welcome and will help to improve. Here it goes... www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE3GHKSppnM

Which degree: Bachelor's? Master's? You plan to go to a film school after you get your degree? Do you seek a degree in film, too, or just have an intention to learn there without getting a degree? How do you plan to make a feature?
