I'm hearing lots of people say that Nolan is the new Kubrick. To be honest Inception was good but i thought sometimes it was overdone, and i enjoyed Memento better. To call him the new Kubrick though is just ridiculous.

Just wondering, do steadicam systems fit to any old camera, or does the camera have to have an attachment or something on it when you buy it?

Not in particular, i guess i would just like to see how someone with a good knowledge of Film Theory would analyse it. Sometimes i feel like i don't know where to start. I'd like to hear what other people thought.

I'd like to learn some more film theory and how to analyse films better. Can we start with some stuff from Kubrick? A Clockwork Orange?

Haha thanks guys, basically I feel like I should have had a bigger interest in this throughout school, I feel like i am too old to be a beginner at something like this. Most people my age have finished there degree's, have their qualifications and starting there careers.

Well, there isn't much really, but I don't have much funds. However i have access to HD camera's i can borrow from my university. However one day i would really like to learn how to cut and edit film, and shoot in 35mm etc. I don't know how to gain any expirence like that.

Essentially I would like to be a "Jack of all trades" film maker, but my main interest is directing. I am not the best creative writer but when i read a good story I immediately have an image of how i would bring it to life as a film. I am working on writing scripts though, and am getting there...
