Support system, Matte Box and Follow Focus for T2i

What about Canon EF-S Lens? Do the lenses have such markers on them? Follow focus wheel is where the camera assistant DID put some marks. I wonder how INITIALLY the distance/focus ratio was found? Is it pure math or some visionary there as well?

Support system, Matte Box and Follow Focus for T2i

I am looking for some literature about follow focus use. I have once participated during feature film production and remember camera assistant always measured a distance from camera to the object and adjusted follow focus. What this measuring is all about?

Support system, Matte Box and Follow Focus for T2i

I purchased T2i TODAY :) Body only, since I have an access to my friends kit lens, besides I want to purchase a faster lens next month. Let me try DSLR shooting with T2i first. If I happen to have money for 5D in the future, then T2i will become "B" camera. :)

I will get a follow focus for a better focus control. What about not mounted on a camera monitor, but a bigger flat screen apart from camera?

External Monitor for Canon T2i set and Electrical power

First and foremost is not be off the focus. Second, is to have a better vision on what I shoot. Thirdly, I want OTHERS to see the shot and make suggestions, if any. Although I have no troubles with my sight, I honestly do not find T2i's built-in screen big enough for film production. BTW, eBay...

A variety of lenses for the T2i

There is one unclear moment I find strange. Wide aperture (say f/1.4) = shallow DoF. Long focal length (even with standard kit lens) = shallow DoF. Zoom lens (even with slow one like 55-250mm f/4-5.6) at its extreme focal length actually reduces the aperture. Why then DoF is there?

Need your advise as well. I am going to shoot outside during a day, following a hero on a city streets. My script requires to show him in full frame and some part of his body (running feet, hands counting money). It worth mentioning that the hero is a 12 years old boy, but there are gonna be...

A variety of lenses for the T2i

Very helpful and I got a lot of useful information about lenses. There is one particular moment I want to dig deeper. So, from one side we are getting a fast lens with wide aperture to get MORE light in. From the other side we limit the incoming light with ND filter. Why can't we mount a...

Need help choosing equipment at $2000 budget

Nice! I liked it! There were few scenes I would make shorter to keep a faster pace. Great sound! Well, they say T2i's video capabilities are same as 7D. If T2i can shoot something similar, then Rolling Shutter might not be as horrible as it seems.

Need help choosing equipment at $2000 budget

I'm making the decision not to regret afterwards. I have my sound gear on its way, and I need to choose THE CAMERA that will NOT create nasty surprises during my work. I am not dilly-dallying definitely. Currently shooting a draft version of some of my future shots with SONY Cyber-shot DSC-H3...

Need help choosing equipment at $2000 budget

CMOS = ROLLING SHUTTER = my nightmare. Smear is the only "problem" of CCD (GLOBAL SHUTTER), but that's so typical for film. That IS a part of a "film look". No camcorder should have ever been manufactured with CMOS sensors. CCD is the ONLY way!!! I HATE CMOS sensor!!!
