    Questions about Distributions

Thanks, but how do you recommend I go about getting those specs? And there's no real guarantee that NewVideo will take it, either.

Hmm, I'm not sure I can do that. What do you think about lavalier mics?

    Boom Mic Inquiries

Here's my mic. Prepare to laugh: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Labtec-Desktop-Microphone-600/dp/B000O7K4LO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1355639143&sr=8-2&keywords=logitech+mic But thank you very much for all of the tips. What are other audio monitoring options that you recommend?

    Boom Mic Inquiries

I'm on quite a tight budget for the feature I plan on making (I'm shooting it on High8 cassettes using a camcorder from the 90s...yeah) and so I'd like to see if there are any cheap options for boom mics. I was thinking about taking a microphone and just taping it to a broom, but my microphone...

I see, so would the distributor just be added into the credits later on?

    Questions about Distributions

I'm going to be making my first feature soon, however I'd like to get a few questions taken care of beforehand. First of all, let me just start out by saying that I plan on distributing my film, probably something through New Video Group. I was wondering if I copyright my film beforehand, or if...

    Storing film footage

Actually guys, here quality is not of real issue. I actually would like the movie to have a filmy, gritty look to it, and I will actually even convert it to black and white in editing. So, I guess that you could say clean video is the opposite of what I am looking for.

    Storing film footage

Thanks for the info! But as for your question, the film that I am currently writing will be shot using an old Sony Camcorder of mine on High8 Cassette tapes (so Standard Definition stuff, really). I'm actually trying to follow the Robert Rodriguez advice of being as cheap as possible in that...

Nice, although for the music, I would have preferred something perhaps a tad more ambient.

    archived-videos Bizarre and Contrasted

Thanks for the honest criticism, guys. So far I've gotten mixed-to-positive reception, and most of the negative response has been directed towards the usage of intense music.

    Storing film footage

I was wondering if anyone here could tell me how, after I make a film, to store the footage somewhere. Obviously a feature film takes up quite a bit of space, and it would definitely be crowded on your average home hard-drive. What does anyone here do? Also, as a second question, what is the...

    cinematography Advice for camcorder

Thanks. For the boom mic, what microphone do you recommend I use, and what do you recommend I use for the covering (the thing that makes sure the background noise is out)?

    Squibs

The indie film I'm writing will be on a microscopic budget, however I plan for there to be a substantial amount of shootouts. Does anyone know how I could get a hold of cheap squibs, or just make them on my own?

    cinematography Advice for camcorder

Thanks for the good advice, everyone. Does anyone have any good advice as to what I can use for recording audio along with a camera like that, along with lighting?

Different shots with a single-cam setup

If I'm not mistaken, several scenes in either The Godfather The Godfather Part II were shot in single set-up, and there were specific main actors that heavily utilized improv (the guy who played the Senator in Part II, for example).
