Sorry to keep ranting on about sound issues, I should think more about lenses really.... Ok so I should be filming in some woods on Sunday, the short does not have any dialogue, but I will want to capture the best of the ambiance sound around me. Should the mic be on stereo or mono for...

archived-videos Short Martial Arts Film "Bad Signal"

Nice fight scene i MUST SAY. What camera was you using may I ask? I agree with thebuck, the dalogue was to low there. Also the randomness of a fight with a random guy not much of a story, but I guess as the buck said it didint really need one as it was more about the fight scene.

Ok so I filmed 2 people acting out a scene from my screenplay last night. I had a master shot of them both in chairs and then over the shoulder shots from one and the other. Problem I found was that on the master shot when they were both in the frame I was cueing but when one said one thing and...

Thankyou people, I shall keep reading this all week so this all sinks into my brain. Just one thing Alvoe, you said this on one of your posts: You also must checkerboard the dialog; this means that you will take away all of the room tone from between the lines of dialog and then place the...

thanks for that 2001, What still kind of bugs me is that i am going on the asumption that i may have many different takes with different angels , so say I have shot A to overlap shot B i wouldnt want the off mic sound of A talking whilst be, i guess u just need to delete the audio of that...

Ok so I am trying to work out in my head this, which maybe simple but I may need some sort of clarification: If I have filmed 2 people talking with 2 different angels over the shoulder one side and the other, when I want to edit and cut away when A is talking to see B, does the audio overlap...

I have only just started writing screenplays, only writen 2 short ones. Its good fun but I would just like an opinion on this first bit of mine. This is based in the UK so if the dialogue seems a bit querky thats why lol EXT.DEALERS DOOR.DAY TOMMO rings the bell of his pot head dealers...

Filming a convo with one mic

Ok so now another dilema has hit me. I have one mic, I wish to shoot 2 people talking A and B. When the scene is acted out I wish to have the scene shot one angle over the shoulder of A and again with B so when I edit I can cut between the two. The thing is do I move the boom back and fourth...

    shooting-film DOF use, (35mm adapter)

I am learning more on this area now, i think i may need to buy a DIY 35mm adapter or make one. But how often is it used in films, obviously I notice the scenes but Im just wondering if there are films that use it a lot less or is there a film out there that has not used it. Im sorry if this...
