The China Film Administration has confirmed that it will cut back on the import of U.S. films to the Middle Kingdom.
This is not a tarrif discussion.
Less films selling in China means less money for Hollywood - lower film budgets - do you think that's necessarily a bad thing?
So many films are watered down, made bland, so they appeal to overseas markets instead of creating the best possible experience for american patrons.
Personally as a consumer, I could see something like this actually IMPROVING my experience in the audience.
Maybe it would also bring back the rise of more mid-budget independent friendly films, instead of all this exclusive tentpole nonsense going on for the past few decades.
What do you all think?
