I'm Dave Kirtland, a 26-year indie filmmaker and 17-year military veteran

From capturing raw, unfiltered moments as a military documentary filmmaker to launching Pelican State Pictures, I’ve dedicated my career to telling impactful stories. My journey has taken me through high-stakes environments, where I learned the power of storytelling to inspire, inform, and connect audiences on a profound level.

Now, with The Broken Pieces of Us, I’m bringing that same passion and authenticity to the world of narrative filmmaking. This project is more than just a film—it’s a profoundly human story about love, loss, and resilience. With your support, we can bring this vision to the screen and create something meaningful.
