I fully agree with you. I've had most of my films distributed on VHS or DVD since 1989, and most of the companies screwed me over in one fashion or another...the end result being that I rarely, if ever, received royalty checks. We did our best business with Amazon, but they stopped...

We just received an email from our distributor, FILMHUB, stating that they want to distribute one of our films, DEATH IN HOLLYWOOD on DVD. (It's already being streamed on numerous sites). But Filmhub wants $700 to author it...we passed.

I still buy a lot of DVDs from OLDIES.COM , which is a clearing house for DVDs, records, and CDs. A lot of their DVDs are priced at only .99 cents. (Brand new DVDs...not used).

I have been using a free program from AEGISUB.ORG with excellent results. If I have a long project that needs captions I upload it to REV.COM and they usually finish the job in a few hours for $1.50/minute. (A 10 minute show is 10x$1.50)

I used a Comica BoomX-U U2 on our last film. This model of Comica includes lav mics rather than a shotgun. The one advantage of using lav mics is that you do not need a second audio person with a fishpole, and you can shoot the actors in distant wide shots without having a mic in the shot...

You're right! We made FART-THE MOVIE in 1991. It was released by 4 companies on VHS/DVD, and is currently on 19 streaming channels. We're still cashing checks after all these years...
