editing How can I achieve this effect ?

I am making a surf video.. And i really like the "yellow" transitions they use in this video...http://vimeo.com/26124634

How can i achieve this effect ? :/
Thanks :)

PS.. I also like when there is that yellow color in a clip... ( I can't explain it ^^) Pieces of yellow or whatever we call that.. I use after effects CS5.. Any ideas ? :)

It's a simulation of a film gate opening (if I remember properly) and is probably a preset in Magic Bullet or After Effects.

Just look for: Film scratches or film burn effect, then you cut at a point where the effect ramps.

or make your own.. if you have a DSLR try "free lensing" its a trip and can be quite fun..

I was also thinking of drilling holes in my cheap GH2 to FD lens adapter to enable light leaks etc..
