Would like advice on formats for video

for Kickstarter.

The video has to be 1000MB or less, and the File Type n=must be one of the following:

MOV, MPEG, AVI, MP4, 3GP, WMV, or FLV.

I have NO IDEA which camera to buy for this. Any help would be most appreciated!

My first instinct is to google it.
Otherwise, try FLV.

What NLE/video editor are you using?

I suspect there's a fair bit more relevant to crowdfunding you have no idea about, either.

What camera are you using now?
And is this KickStarter campaign for a film project or other medium?

Any help would be most appreciated!
You probably ought to have a good sober read thru of this thread ---> http://www.indietalk.com/showthread.php?t=39742
Good luck!

As others have said, the camera is not where you should be focusing. The best cameras can have their footage edited and compressed down to half the size your mention. You need to look at your edit program and learn how to use it to compress the final edited project down to the right size. Most of the major programs AVID, Final Cut, Premiere, Vegas, etc... have settings which will allow your to compress the final video down to the right file size.

render your video as quicktime photojpeg 100% quality.
Use handbrake to create an h264 versioin with, 2 pass encoding, average bitrate of 5000 kbps
results in pretty good quality, its about what vimeo recommends.
