lighting What lights look like moonlight?

Shooting at night. Looking for lights that will mimic the look of moonlight.

LOW BUDGET!! Looking for lights that we may already have or can be bought for cheap from hardware stores.

Shooting tomorrow evening as part of a 48 hour film competition.

Any ideas people?

I don't know what you have already. Depending on the size of the
area you need to light a few shop lights (work lights) with blue gels
will work. the higher you can get them the better. The more powerful
the better but you can do it with readily available lights.

All we have already is 1000w halogen light and some lower wattage work lights. We may have coloured gels - could we colour grade to add blue tint?

I suppose the question i need to as is do i need lighting?

Can a 5D mark II with a Canon 50mm 1.4 lens get enough light from smaller light sources (like a house window in the background or similar)?

Preferably would prefer to not use any lighting due to the time restrictions.

Sure, you could just adjust the color in post and not do any
lighting at all. You can shoot this in anyway you think is best.
To get the very best result you should use the 1k as your
source (the moonlight) gel it with blue and use the other lights
as fill also using blue gels.

I've done two 48 hour projects - both were shot at night and we
used lights for a better look even though it took longer than not
using any lighting at all. Is this your first 48 hour? You're going to
have a blast! Make sure to post it, okay?
