watch What do you think?

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd post the latest project I've been involved in.

http://vimeo.com/27375119

I didn't have a big role on this one, I just got asked to help
out developing and shooting a scene for our actor friends'
showreels.

It took us a day to film, my friend did the camerawork and
editing, I recorded the location sound (a job I usually refuse to
do)... it turned out to be quite a challenge actually as it was
a very windy day and the trees made the boom work very hard
when the actors were standing far apart.

Anyway, I'd love to know what you guys think about
any aspect of the film.

Thanks in advance,
SMITH

That was nice. I liked the chopped up editing style. Images felt dreamy and mellow, and for something improvised I think it served the piece well. I'll be doing something similar to this on a music video with a couple during the honeymoon phase of dating, hope you don't mind if I show this to them as an example?

You're very welcome to use it as an example,
I'm glad its useful for you. The editing is
influenced by nouvelle vague (French New
Wave) cinema, so you might find some good
reference points in films from that era.
Godard's 'À bout de souffle' and 'Une femme
est une femme' spring to mind as good
starting points.
