w/a and filter Lens/ questions

How important are they? Should I buy these now, or wait a while?

I have been pricing wide angle lens' for the dvx100b and they are ridiculous.

This guy shows how to make one for less than $100 and it's supposed to be better than the ones being sold.

As for the filters, do I need these now? Seems like they would be handy, but so does the w/a.

Of course, I can throw those in the cart and not notice a difference in comparison to the w/a lens.

Sorry if I'm all over the place, I'm manic right now. probably not the best time to be shopping.

The guy seems to know what he's doing, but what do I know.

I think the answer depends on your individual style.

I hate wide angle lenses - never use them. But if you like the
look then you should get one or make one yourself.

Filters are also a very personal choice. I use a ProMist half
black all the time - but rarely anything else. If the look you
want calls for a specific filter you should get one. If you don’t
know what look you want then you could try different filters.

Check the Tiffen website for filter information. If there is a
well stocked camera shop near you bring in you camera and speak
with the people there who know filters and try out several
different ones.

You may find you really need specific filters but won’t use
others. No need to buy what you won’t use.
