vintage film countdown

hey, this is probably asked a lot, but I couldn't find anything during my search.

I just want to use an old film countdown in the opening of one of my shorts. the main character is watching an old black and white film in a theater, I think it's fitting to include the classic countdown. but seeing as how many people re-create these countdowns, and some look genuine enough for me to mistake it for the real deal, I don't want someone coming after me because I accidentally used it without knowing that it was a modern take.

does anyone know where I can find and use a vintage film countdown?

thanks for reading.

I don't believe that countdown is under copyright.

Back in the day, you would have to buy it to put on the head
of your film - but you were paying for the actual film stock not
the right to use it. I assume there are some entrepreneurs
who have created (and copyrighted) their own countdown leader.

just the usual windows vista and internet explorer.

From a quick Google… (I'm using a Mac and have avoided Internet Explorer like the plague for years, so this may be wrong)

1. Go into the the Tools menu, choose Internet Options > Content.
2. Find the Settings section and turn off Content Advisor.

(and if that doesn't work, try Firefox - it's a lot nicer)

ah, thanks. I think I found one, though. just need to verify that it's definitely usable...

Jared, that leader falls completely within public domain use.
