When things like this pop up in my life.. I wish, after the fact, that I just had some "back pocket" shot ideas. With just a little work you could have solid footage of a high action shot.. or the VIP being escorted to a rendezvous with destiny or some such..
For example, I was driving home the other night and a bad accident on the twisty rural road ahead had blocked traffic.. the lights, the trees, the flares all were very intense and had a strage mood that could work in just about any story.. I mean one shot looking down t the line of cars around the near curve could serve as a ready made shot for many situations..
You could set up and follow up a shot like that in many ways..
