The article is heavily slanted - it's great that you got an editorial piece written about you, even if it is negative.
My concern is that you're filming in public locations without permission, especially with guns, even though they're imitation. Here, we must notify police about any filming activity involving firearms, real or imitation. We also always get permission from the location. You don't want to end up being charged with trespass, and unfortunately when your movies (especially behind the scenes) are on YouTube, there's public video evidence if you have committed trespass.
More importantly, imitation weapons in public are a recipe for disaster without letting the correct people know. I've heard of instances locally where film crews haven't notified police that they were filming with weapons - in one of the more recent situations, the crew were filming a hostage scene in their apartment. The person next door heard the screaming of the actors, called the police and the police burst in to the apartment, arresting all the cast and crew and eventually confiscating the tapes.
You don't want to end up on the wrong end of a trigger happy cop. All it takes is anyone to misread the situation (and if you're shooting without permission in public, there's a good chance you're attempting to conceal the camera anyway) and you could end up in a world of trouble and hurt.
Seriously, don't risk it.
