USN Films on the Front Page

Woke up yesterday to see this article about my film company on the front page. What are your thoughts?

http://www.pressherald.com/news/hor...s-set-in-brunswick-_2013-01-13.html?pageType=

i read something by some idiot who thinks you should be stopped.

personally dont stop what your doing, infact now that your in the limelight EXPLOIT this position but positively, you could end up with a massive money making deal from this.

or it could go the other way and you could get done over completely by these idiots despite the fact your causing NOONE harm!

long live the oppressed.

Well, the comments are fun ;)

Seriously though, just ignore that 'journalist' and keep doing what you want to do. Might be best to get permission for assault weapons in the street from now on though...

Hahaha, all press is good press, right?

Don't stop doing what you love...

HOWEVER, do start approaching it the right way. You're clearly making money off your YouTube channel. Use it for permits, insurance and off duty officers. No journalist or librarian can complain when the city approved it and who cares if someone calls the cops if there's an officer on set.

Keep it up, but for the sake of all kids out there wanting to shoot action (as evidenced by millions of youtube videos) do it the right way.

Columnist Bill Nemitz is a d!ck from the looks of a Herald search on "Bill Nemitz."

The article was skewed so bad I thought he might be a rookie reporter the Herald's editor was just letting off the chain a little to see what happens when you write dumb sh!t.

Yeah... well...
I was wrong.

So, now you gotta ask yourself since Nemitz has the support of his editor to fill web/column space maybe you gotta consider the mentality of the good folks who read that site on a regular basis.

The comments look overwhelmingly supportive. Congratulations.
I hope you get some good contacts outta this.
I think the dumb@ss writer did you a back-handed favor. Idiot.

GL!

Heh. Similar article came up briefly in the middle of a discussion about the murder of the producer for the FPS Russia videos, on a forum elsewhere. Didn't make the connection to you & your films. Just mentioned BioHazard.

Hope they don't go after any of your bux. Quite a haul you paid in taxes, from these!

The article is heavily slanted - it's great that you got an editorial piece written about you, even if it is negative.

My concern is that you're filming in public locations without permission, especially with guns, even though they're imitation. Here, we must notify police about any filming activity involving firearms, real or imitation. We also always get permission from the location. You don't want to end up being charged with trespass, and unfortunately when your movies (especially behind the scenes) are on YouTube, there's public video evidence if you have committed trespass.

More importantly, imitation weapons in public are a recipe for disaster without letting the correct people know. I've heard of instances locally where film crews haven't notified police that they were filming with weapons - in one of the more recent situations, the crew were filming a hostage scene in their apartment. The person next door heard the screaming of the actors, called the police and the police burst in to the apartment, arresting all the cast and crew and eventually confiscating the tapes.

You don't want to end up on the wrong end of a trigger happy cop. All it takes is anyone to misread the situation (and if you're shooting without permission in public, there's a good chance you're attempting to conceal the camera anyway) and you could end up in a world of trouble and hurt.

Seriously, don't risk it.
