Unusually Chilly in here

Is it unusually chilly in here, or is it just me? Oh wait it is.
I'm new to film directing, although I have worked on films with my dad, commonly known as wheatgrinder. I have decided to follow in his footsteps and create my own short film called Carriers for my senior project this year. It's a A short film based in a semi futuristic setting in which the zombie outbreak was contained by a corporation. So a political thriller. Here is a quick synopsis of it, as well as an excerpt from my script.

Logan is asked by his work friend, Wade, to accompany him on a hunting trip he surely won't forget. As they head deeper into the woods, they discover more and more about the reality of the things that are contained in the reserve.

On a rise overlooking a small clearing.Logan and Wade lie watching the area below. Wade adjusts his scope. Logan pulls out a test from his pocket and examines it. He fumbles and drops it.

WADE

Hey, don't lose that.

LOGAN

I've never used one of these before, how-

WADE

-It's easy, tear it open stab your finger with it, count to four. Thats how long it takes to mess you up. Green is okay, red and I'll shoot you myself.

(chuckle)

Logan picks it up and puts the test kit in his pocket.

All and any critique or advice is welcome!

Right on! Cool to see it runs in the family.

Your script sample really doesn't have enough info yet

No brand or any sign of being a carrier

How does the audience know this? At what previous point has this whole branding/marking concept been introduced, that we can recognise it now?

Logan sighs and shakes his head.

This (and similar descriptions) are usually not included in the script.

That's all I got, for the script sample. Good luck with it!

Yes I am quite proud, and somewhat chagrined that my off spring will be visiting these forums, my other life is about to be revealed, and that goes both ways!

Nice forum name, Ill just call you UC 'cause Unusually_Chilly is waaay too much to type! :)

UChilly,
pop over to the screen writing area.. see if rayw can help you create a log line. Log lines are wonderful things.. they nail what your movie is about in one sentence! Not as easy as it sounds..
