Don't know if the market is big, but it's consistent. You can netflix Lloyd Kaufman's "Make your own damn movie" DVDs to see examples of what Troma does.
These are wonderfully playful movies that don't take themselves too seriously. My faves are the Toxic Avenger (which really kicked off the whole Troma thing) and Cannibal: the Musical (my Matt Stone and Trey Parker - the south park guys).
I don't know if the audience is that large, but they're really faithful and will generally buy anything that Troma distributes. I'm sure if you contact them, they'd have numbers for you. They are a business after all and keep track of those sorts of things to lure people to their stables
...and I thought my films were bad. At least he warned me!
George said he'd act in Bad Cat 6 with me until I canceled it when I couldn't work anymore. I saw him the other day and he still wants to know when LOC will return to shoot it ^^
That's kind of like asking if anyone has made a Dreamworks film or if there
is a market for Paramount film. Troma isn't a genre or style - Troma is a prodCo.
But they do well. I've worked on a couple. A long time ago, when they actually
paid.
