locations The lost art of Matte Painting

I've seen a lot of threads about greenscreen work, but it occurs to me that I've never seen a thread where people discuss Matte Painting. I was watching Loki the other day and was really impressed by how much the background art contributed to creating the film's world.

I actually work a lot on 2d backgrounds for scenes. Does anyone else here do that?

I will do that In the future. It would be nice if my paintings can become one with my movies. I would like to become better at it. Not only for the background but also for the foreground.
