To be honest, I thought The Human Centipede was way too disgusting. Perhaps if I felt the movie had a lot of depth in it's story and character development, the gross parts would have been deserved, but the movie just seems to care mostly about shock value, rather than depth and substance.
And I don't get some of the decisions the characters made, and some of the scenarios.

Why did the Asian guy, gladly kill himself and smile about it, when he could have taken the villain. Why it it implied at the end, that the woman does not get found, when the two cops likely called for back up before going back into the house? I don't expect logic and smart storytelling in every movie, but if I am going to see images as disgusting as that, I better be seeing a movie that is on the same level of substance as Schindler's List or something like that.
