The CON-CAN Movie Festival calls for entries for its 2nd round from June 6 to August 31, 2005. (Entries must ARRIVE during this period.)
Entry fee is free. Selected movies will have exposures to the globally acclaimed film professional jury as well as to the world-wide audience vie the internet.

【Objective】
The CON-CAN Movie Festival is an audience-interactive online film festival which aims 1.) to discover hidden creative talent from all over the world and 2.)to enable image creators and a global audience to share and exchange the underlying messages and sheer creativity expressed in the form of profound short film productions.
【Entry Eligibility】
Films/videos up to 20 min. in length.
Open to any theme, any genre, and any style.
No requirement for the language used in the piece.

【Call for Entry】
June 6th, 2005 - August 31st, 2005 (entries must ARRIVE during this period.)
【Competition Procedure and Awards】
1. 30 semi-finalists chosen by the CON-CAN Executive Committee will be streamed
for public viewing on CON-CAN's website with English/Japanese subtitles.
2. Votes from the international online-audience will be combined with the
evaluation of the 7-person jury to select 10 Grand-prix nominees.
3. After careful consideration and discussions, 1 Grand-prix and
2 semi-Grand-prix will be selected by the jury.
・CON-CAN Grand Prix: presented to 1 film production
Cash reward of US$10,000
(In case no film production is eligible for the Grand Prix, 3 film
productions will be chosen for Encouragement Awards US$3,000)
・Tamashii Awards: presented to 2 film productions
Cash reward of US$3,000
The results of the audience voting and jury evaluation will be made public via our website, and the internet conference for the final round of selection will be shown to the public online.

The jury is comprised of globally acclaimed film professionals from around the world. Jury members are carefully selected from various genres to ensure fair judgment of the wide range of productions expected.

at the Venice International Film Festival by Secret Ballot
Dennis Lim (USA):
Film Critic of The Village Voice,
member of the New York Film Critics Circle
Fei Zhao (China):
Cinematographer, won the National Society of Film Critics Award
for Best Cinematography for Raise the Red Lantern;
recent work includes participation in Woody Allen production
Jean-Michel Frodon (France):
Journalist, film critic and cinema historian,
editor in chief of Cahiers du Cinema, has written and directed
a number of books on film critiques, including La Projection National
Jukka-Pekka Laakso (Finland):
Director of Tampere Film Festival, member of the National Council
for the Arts (Finland), member of the European Film Academy
Peter Millynn (Australia):
Production Executive with the Australian Film
Television & Radio School
Shoichiro Sasaki (Japan):
Director of audio and visual images, won the Prix Italia Grand Prix
and International Emmy awards (twice), as well as many other awards
both in Japan and abroad
